Indians are depressed more so than ever, are you going through it too?

Have you become a victim of depression? Well, it’s not a new thing. . India is now also ranked as one of the most depressed country in the world leaving USA and China behind as stated by WHO Report. Surprisingly, India beats Pakistan, its troubled neighbour as well in this genre. Depression is not just state of being sad; depression is so painful that it controls the person from not being able to express the simple thoughts, which often leads to withdrawal from reality and loss of words to express their feelings. Depression leads to loss of identity and people tend to shut themselves in the four walls and prefer living a lonely and isolated life. It is difficult to survive in a country like India where people are ignorant about this mental condition and and are not ready to accept it like any other illness. It impacts the brain, heart and other parts of the body. A decrease in brain volume is one of the most disturbing side effects of depression. It causes inappropriate release of adrenaline, which over time damages the cardiovascular system. In addition to health effect, people also suffer from loneliness and social isolation. The best way to cure yourself from this is Eat healthy food, Exercise and meditate and also talk to people and involve yourself in social gatherings. Depression! This word has troubled more lives than any other stigma. With a suicide rate of 10.9 for every one lakh people, suicide is one of the biggest causes of deaths in the age group of 15-24 as stated by WHO report. Don’t stress much my friends if you feel you have become a victim of it. You can easily come out of it and start living a healthy life again. Just remember one thing, always be happy! Everything else will automatically fall in place.
