Yoga Guru Ramdev and the Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved, Acharya Balkrishna, apologized unconditionally before the Supreme Court on Tuesday for their failure to submit proper affidavits of compliance in the misleading advertisement case. The court, expressing dissatisfaction with the apology, sternly cautioned them to "be ready for action," criticizing their disregard for court orders and suggesting they were in defiance of legal obligations.

The Supreme Court, in a bench consisting of Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, reprimanded Ramdev and Balkrishna for their lack of compliance with court directives, emphasizing the importance of respecting court orders. The court rebuffed the earlier apology tendered by Patanjali, emphasizing the need for adherence to undertakings given to the court. Senior advocate Balbir Singh, representing Ramdev, acknowledged the yoga guru's presence and his unconditional apology, while Solicitor General Tushar Mehta offered assistance in resolving the matter.

The court granted a final opportunity for Ramdev and Balkrishna to file their affidavits within a week and scheduled the next hearing for April 10, insisting on their presence. The case stemmed from the company's failure to respond to a notice regarding the efficacy of its products' advertisements, prompting the court to issue a show cause notice to Ramdev. The court characterized Patanjali's advertisements as being in violation of the law of the land.
