Former international cricket star Sunil Narine has been dominating the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season with exemplary performances for the Knight Riders. Retired since November 2023, Narine's recent form has been nothing short of stellar, particularly after being promoted to the top order. In 7 matches, he has amassed an impressive 286 runs, including a century and a half-century, all while maintaining a striking strike rate of 176.54. Moreover, his bowling skills have also been on display, having taken 9 wickets in IPL 2024 so far.

Taking to his Instagram account the player clarified, putting an end to any speculation about his potential return to represent the West Indies. "I hope this message finds you all well and in good health. I'm truly flattered and humbled that my performances recently have moved many people to publicly express their wish for me to come out of retirement and play in the upcoming T20 World Cup."

"I have made peace with that decision and whilst I never wish to disappointment, the door is now closed and I will be supporting the guys who take the field in June for the West Indies. Guys who have worked over the past few months and deserve to show our wonderful fans that they are capable of winning another title. I wish you all the best."
