No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will on Monday launch the long-awaited mega bridge over the Muriganga river, a landmark infrastructure project aimed at transforming connectivity on the Gangasagar route. The ₹1,500 crore bridge, fully funded by the West Bengal government, is expected to offer a permanent solution to decades-old travel hardships faced by millions of pilgrims visiting Gangasagar every year. The project is also seen as a major catalyst for socio-economic growth in South 24 Parganas by improving access, mobility and regional integration.
