A violent clash triggered by a land dispute led to heavy firing and chaos at the residence of Bihar Agriculture Minister Ramakripal Yadav’s in-law in Patna, leaving three people injured. The incident, which saw around 15 rounds of gunfire, occurred late Friday night in Byapur village under Maner police station, spreading panic across the area.
According to preliminary information, two related families were involved in a long-standing land dispute that escalated dramatically around 9 PM. Armed with weapons, both groups confronted each other, leading to indiscriminate firing, stone-pelting, and physical assault using rods, sticks, and sharp weapons. Eyewitnesses described the situation as resembling a battleground as gunshots echoed through the locality.
Three individuals sustained injuries in the clash, including a relative of the minister. Among them, Manish alias Guddu and Nitish alias Bablu were critically injured and shifted to AIIMS Patna for advanced treatment, while Pappu, another injured person, received treatment at a private hospital and was later discharged. The severity of the attack has raised serious concerns over the use of firearms in local disputes.
Family members of the victims have alleged that the attack was pre-planned and have named several accused, claiming they carried out the assault with intent to kill. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information, but the accused had already fled. An investigation has been initiated, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
