Reports indicate a major political development involving the Trinamool Congress, with claims that 20 out of 28 Lok Sabha MPs have decided to extend support to the NDA government. The development comes amid allegations of widening internal divisions within the party, along with assertions of a breakaway faction forming within its parliamentary ranks.
According to statements attributed to TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, 20 MPs have already informed the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla of their support for the NDA, with a formal communication expected to follow. A meeting was also reportedly held on Monday afternoon at the residence of Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, attended by several MPs.
The MPs present at the meeting were reported to include Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Shatabdi Roy, Abu Taher, Arup Chakraborty, Khalilur Rahman, Sharmila Sarkar, Asit Mal, Kalipada Soren, Jagdish Basunia, and Prasun Banerjee. It was also reported that West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari met the group during the meeting.
Separately, reports also suggest that an informal meeting of TMC MPs took place in Delhi late at night, where dissatisfaction with the current leadership was expressed. A photograph from the meeting has reportedly surfaced on social media showing several MPs, including Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, seated together, with internal disagreements also reported during the gathering.
