₹4.10 lakh seized from businessman during naka checking in app cab in Garden Reach

During a routine election-related vehicle inspection conducted by FST-6 under Port Assembly constituency-158, officials seized unaccounted cash amounting to ₹4,10,000 in the Garden Reach police station area. The checking was carried out near Santoshpur Road and Taratala Road crossing, opposite Nature Park, as part of intensified surveillance ahead of elections.

According to officials, the Flying Squad Team (FST-6), led by magistrate Shantanu Naskar, stopped an Uber vehicle bearing registration number WB04J 2596 for inspection. During the check, one passenger identified as Sachin Saboo, aged 47, was found carrying a large amount of cash in multiple denominations including ₹500, ₹200, ₹100, and ₹50 notes.

The individual, identified as a resident of Gumla district in Jharkhand, claimed that he is a garment businessman and was travelling to Santoshpur Readymade Market along with associates for business purposes. However, he failed to produce any supporting documents regarding the cash in his possession at the time of inspection, officials stated.

Following the verification process, the FST team detained the individual along with the cash and brought him to the police station. The entire amount was seized after completing necessary legal formalities, and further investigation has been initiated to determine the source and intended use of the money.
