Another backstab for India! US drops 'Indo' from command name; Tharoor reacts
Lionel Messi’s global management team has sent a scathing official letter to the Kolkata Police Commissioner, alleging a major security collapse during the football superstar's recent promotional visit to the Yuva Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium). The high-profile letter expresses deep anger and formal dissatisfaction over the complete failure of state law enforcement to maintain international safety protocols. According to the management, the chaotic environment inside the stadium directly compromised Messi’s personal safety, comfort, and personal space, casting a shadow over the state's capability to host global sports icons.
The letter explicitly details how strict pre-arranged protocol rules were blatantly violated by high-ranking individuals. According to the agreed terms, no VIPs, politicians, or special guests were permitted to step onto the playing arena, and access was strictly restricted to only three authorized camera operators. However, the management alleges that the then state Sports Minister, Aroop Biswas, broke these protocols by entering the field. Furthermore, the letter accuses the former minister of conducting unscheduled actions, repeatedly breaching Messi's personal boundary, and making inappropriate, unsolicited physical contact by placing his hands on the footballer's shoulders and waist for photographs.
The security breakdown extended far beyond political interference, according to the management's official complaint. The restricted field area was reportedly overrun by an unauthorized crowd, including nearly 40 unapproved photographers and media operators who bypassed security cordons. This massive influx created a highly volatile and unmanaged situation on the turf. The letter confirms that the local security apparatus practically collapsed under the pressure, leaving the management team with no choice but to cancel several pre-planned events and evacuate Messi from the stadium long before the scheduled departure time.
