A wedding in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district was called off after a dispute erupted over seating near a cooler, leading the bride to refuse to marry the groom. The incident occurred in Chitbaragaon village, where tensions escalated between the guests and the bride's family during the ceremony. Despite efforts from both sides and local authorities, including a panchayat meeting and police intervention, no resolution was reached.
The groom, identified as Hukumchand Jaiswal from Mustafabad, expressed disappointment over the cancellation, stating that he tried to persuade the bride not to call off the marriage. He explained that the argument arose unexpectedly, causing a rift over seating arrangements near the cooler. The bride reportedly believed the altercation foreshadowed inauspiciousness for their future together.
