Ahead of the scheduled Shaheed Diwas mega rally organized by the Trinamool Congress in Dharmatala, Kolkata on July 21st, alarming posters targeting Trinamool workers and supporters have surfaced in the Malpada area of Dadpur, Polba, in Hooghly district.
The provocative posters, which have sparked a political uproar, contained a menacing message: "Those going to Kolkata to eat egg rice (Deem Bhaat) on July 21st must get themselves insured before leaving home."
The discovery of these posters has ignited a flurry of allegations and counter-allegations between the ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition factions. Trinamool workers and supporters in the area have condemned the posters, alleging a deliberate attempt to intimidate and disrupt their activities ahead of the rally.
Local authorities, including the Hooghly District Rural Police, swiftly responded to the situation, launching an investigation to identify the perpetrators behind the provocative posters. Police officials have begun questioning residents to gather information and determine the source of the posters.
In response to the incident, Trinamool leaders have denounced the posters as a cowardly act aimed at instilling fear among party members and dampening participation in the upcoming rally. They have called for a thorough investigation to apprehend those responsible for spreading such threats.
