No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
West Bengal opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has issued a strong warning to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, stating that the time given to her to respond to a defamation notice has now expired. Adhikari alleged that Banerjee’s claims linking him to a coal scam were baseless and a product of her “insalubrious mindset.”
In a public statement, Adhikari said, “The Chief Minister by her conduct has made it clear that her imaginary allegations pertaining to me being involved in a coal scam were false. Get ready to face legal consequences in the Court.” He emphasized that her failure to reply within the stipulated time has left him no choice but to pursue legal action.
Adhikari’s warning signals an intensification of political confrontations between the ruling party and the opposition in West Bengal. He further stated, “Mamata Banerjee, now I will see you in Court,” underlining his intention to formally challenge the allegations through legal proceedings.
