Hardik Pandya honored amid cheers at Wankhede Stadium victory parade

The Wankhede Stadium echoed with chants of 'Hardik, Hardik' as Team India prepared for their victory parade in Mumbai on Thursday, July 4. This marked a triumphant chapter in Hardik Pandya's journey, contrasting his recent struggles during the IPL 2024 season where he faced boos at the same venue. Fans turned out in force at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium, showing unwavering support for the Men in Blue.

Later today, all eyes will be on Hardik Pandya as the Indian team gathers at Wankhede Stadium for the felicitation ceremony. The BCCI has announced a prize money of Rs 125 crore for distribution among the players and support staff after the event. Prior to that, Rohit Sharma and his squad will embark on a celebratory parade from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium in a specially-designed open-top bus.

During IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya faced relentless boos from sections of the Wankhede crowd as Mumbai Indians' captain, replacing Rohit Sharma. Despite the adversity, Hardik maintained his composure throughout the season, which saw Mumbai Indians struggle with just four wins in 14 matches under his leadership.

Amidst a sea of blue at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium, chants celebrated India's World Cup heroes. The fervent cry of "Mumbai Cha Raja Rohit Sharma" reverberated from Church Gate Railway Station to Wankhede Stadium, with Virat Kohli fans also joining in to brave Mumbai's rain and witness this historic moment.

Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role for Rohit Sharma in the T20 World Cup, securing 11 wickets and scoring 144 runs at an impressive average of 48. His defining moment came during the final in Barbados, where he successfully defended 16 runs in the last over against South Africa, an achievement that moved him to tears as India clinched the World Cup.
