CID takes over Baruipur gangrape-murder accused's encounter probe
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari conducted a surprise inspection at Swasthya Bhavan on Thursday morning to review the state's healthcare infrastructure. During his unannounced visit, the Chief Minister went straight to the Swasthya Bhavan control room to inspect its operational capabilities. This central control room will now be utilized to maintain live monitoring and direct surveillance across various state-run hospitals to ensure transparency.
The primary objective of implementing this live monitoring system is to completely dismantle active broker syndicates operating within government hospital premises. The state administration intends to track daily activities in real-time through this centralized hub to protect patients from exploitation. The sudden visit by the head of state caught health department officials off guard, signaling a major push toward immediate administrative reforms.
Following his inspection of the facility, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari issued a strict warning against corrupt middlemen interfering with healthcare delivery. He explicitly stated, "If a broker is seen in the hospital today, he will not be seen again tomorrow," indicating immediate punitive action against offenders. The state health department has been directed to ensure the surveillance system remains fully operational around the clock.
