Amid the deepening internal crisis within the Trinamool Congress, party chief Mamata Banerjee launched a sharp attack on the dissident faction and the BJP through a social media post, hours after the resignation of senior leader Chandrima Bhattacharya. Mamata Banerjee challenged the rebel leaders to end what she described as their double standards, stating that individuals promoting the BJP's political agenda while claiming to remain within the Trinamool would no longer be tolerated.
Mamata Banerjee stated that the Trinamool Congress is ideologically opposed to the BJP and said that those supporting the BJP should openly join the party if they have the courage to do so. Her remarks came amid the ongoing internal developments within the Trinamool following the resignation of Chandrima Bhattacharya.
