Bhajan singer Kanhaiya Mittal is set to join the Congress party ahead of the 2024 Haryana Assembly Elections. Mittal, who gained fame with his bhajan "Jo Ram Ko Laye They, Hum Unko Layenge" in support of the Ram Temple, recently expressed his thoughts on serving Sanatan Dharma from any political platform.
Speaking about his decision, Mittal said, "It is possible to serve 'Sanatan Dharma' from anywhere." He added that his aim is for all political parties to promote Sanatan values, not just one. "There’s no clash between me and BJP," he clarified, highlighting that his move is not driven by opposition but a broader desire to see Sanatan Dharma represented across the political spectrum.
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari commented on Mittal's decision: "People who were associated with BJP are getting disillusioned. If the person who wrote a song for the Ram Mandir is leaving the party, it's a moment of introspection for the BJP."
