'Let centre make laws, I won't let harm to come to you': Mamata says in Suti

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee delivered a clear message during her visit to Murshidabad from an administrative meeting held in Suti on Tuesday. Referring to the state's opposition to the legislation, she stated, "We all opposed the amendment. But the Center did not listen. It has made a law. Let the Center make a law."

She firmly added, "As long as I am here, I will not let any of you get hurt, neither Hindus, nor Muslims, nor Buddhists, nor Christians," assuring protection to all communities within the state.

The Chief Minister reiterated her previous assertion, blaming "external forces" for instigating communal unrest in Murshidabad over the Waqf issue. Warning the public against being misled, she urged for peace, saying, "We have no question about Waqf here. I will not say anything more on this. If you have anything to say about Waqf, go to Delhi." She further appealed, "Keep in mind that I am in Bengal. As long as I am here, you will not create unrest among yourselves because of anyone's words. Give me your word today."
