‘Operation Dost’: Indian team rescues six-year-old girl from rubble in Turkey

Union Home Minister Amit Shah appreciated the team's efforts and said he was "proud of our NDRF" in a tweet. He said India is committed to making the NDRF the world's leading disaster response unit. The NDRF is working to rescue the living victims from the debris and provide first aid to the injured before handing them over to medical authorities.The force uses chip and rock cutters to break through fallen concrete slabs and other infrastructure, and has deep radars that pick up faint sounds like a heartbeat or a person's voice, officials said.

Teams on the ground have a rapidly deployed antenna and satellite phones for communication. Seven four-wheelers and trucks, besides four canines, were sent alongside three teams that were airlifted by an Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 heavy-lift aircraft from Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad to Adana Airport in Turkey. The Indian Army has also set up and operationalized the provision of surgical and emergency departments to provide relief to the affected people in Hatay province.
