NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will now launch the Bharatiya Janata Party’s proposed ‘Parivartan Yatra’ in West Bengal on March 2, a day later than originally scheduled. The yatra, part of the party’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections, will be flagged off from Raidighi in South 24 Parganas district. The earlier plan was to begin the campaign on March 1 from the same location.
The change in schedule comes as Shah is required to attend a tribute programme for Guru Tegh Bahadur in Mumbai on March 1. As a result, the Raidighi event has been deferred by a day. According to the revised itinerary, he will arrive in Kolkata from Mumbai around 10 pm on March 1.
On March 2, Shah is scheduled to leave for Raidighi by special helicopter at approximately 11:15 am and is expected to reach the venue around noon to formally launch the ‘Parivartan Yatra.’ The campaign is being positioned as a key political outreach programme ahead of the state elections.
State-level party leaders said West Bengal has 10 organisational divisions, of which nine will be covered under the yatra. None of the journeys will begin from Kolkata. Besides Shah, several senior leaders are slated to participate in different phases, including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, J. P. Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Dharmendra Pradhan, Smriti Irani and Devendra Fadnavis.
