"Plot to kill me!" Mamata slams Amit Shah over "bandage" remark during Purulia rally

Mamata Banerjee on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was plotting a “cruel plan” against her as the state heads toward the upcoming Assembly elections. Addressing a rally in Purulia, the Trinamool Congress chief said she was sensing a conspiracy and warned party workers to remain alert during the election period.

During the speech, Banerjee suggested that attempts might be made to harm her politically or physically. Raising concerns before supporters, she questioned whether there was a plan to eliminate her, saying she felt a dangerous strategy was being prepared against her by the opposition party. The TMC party leader also accused the BJP of attempting to destabilize the state during the election campaign. She alleged that several developments in recent weeks indicated a broader strategy aimed at weakening her government and influencing the electoral environment in West Bengal.

West Bengal is preparing for Assembly elections scheduled in two phases on April 23 and April 29 to elect all 294 members of the state legislature. As campaigning intensifies across the state, political rhetoric between the ruling Trinamool Congress and the BJP has grown increasingly sharp.
