A fire broke out late night at a plywood factory’s warehouse in the Makaltala area of Jagadishpur, Howrah. Locals noticed the flames around 11 PM and alerted the fire department. Four fire engines along with personnel from Liluah Police Station reached the spot and launched firefighting operations. The fire was brought under control after nearly five hours of effort. No injuries or casualties have been reported in the incident.
According to initial assessments, the fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. The warehouse sustained significant damage, and losses are estimated to be in the range of several lakhs. Officials have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the fire or the total value of the damage. The blaze caused panic in the area, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
