Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Pappu Yadav stirred a major controversy in Parliament on Friday with explosive remarks targeting politicians during a discussion on the Women’s Reservation and Delimitation Bill 2026. The Purnia MP alleged that politicians are at the forefront of both sexual exploitation cases and consumption of pornographic content, triggering loud protests and slogans inside the House.
Speaking during the debate, he claimed that hundreds of MPs face allegations of sexual exploitation, stating that 755 lawmakers have such accusations against them, with chargesheets filed in 155 cases. His remarks led to repeated disruptions, with members raising objections as slogans of protest echoed across the chamber.
Taking a sharp dig at the political class, Pappu Yadav said that politicians rank highest in cases of sexual misconduct, followed by godmen and officials. He added that politicians are also among the highest consumers of pornographic content, remarking, “We are all naked in the bathhouse,” to underline what he described as widespread moral hypocrisy.
The MP also opposed the Women’s Reservation Bill, calling it a conspiracy against backward classes and minorities. He argued that reservation must include separate quotas for OBCs, EBCs, Dalits, Adivasis, and minorities, and questioned the intent of those supporting the bill, alleging that they had historically failed to ensure social and economic empowerment for women.
