Former West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has broken his silence regarding his sudden resignation, categorically dismissing rumors that he was pressured into stepping down. Arriving at Dum Dum airport on Sunday, Bose addressed the intense political speculation that has gripped the state since his exit on March 5, 2026. He described his departure as a "conscious decision," emphasizing that he believed it was the right time to move on and allow for new leadership at Raj Bhavan.
The resignation, which came just weeks before the high-stakes 2026 Assembly elections, had sparked a war of words between the TMC and the BJP. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had earlier suggested that the Union Home Ministry might have exerted pressure on Bose to serve specific political interests. However, Bose adopted a philosophical tone during his interaction with reporters, stating that one must leave for another to arrive, and maintained that his stint in Bengal was a "beautiful experience."
Interestingly, Bose highlighted his deep connection to the state, noting that he has recently become a registered voter in the Chowringhee Assembly constituency. He expressed "double joy" over this new status as a citizen of Bengal, though he remained tight-lipped about his future career moves. While there has been talk of him entering active politics or taking up a different professional role, Bose hinted that he currently has no immediate plans to contest the upcoming polls.
