BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
Punjabi-Bollywood singer B Praak has reportedly received a death threat linked to an extortion demand of Rs 10 crore, prompting a police investigation in Mohali. The threat was allegedly issued by a caller claiming association with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, officials said on Saturday.
According to the complaint, the initial contact was made on January 5 when a call was placed to Dilnoor, a close associate of B Praak. After a missed call, Dilnoor received another call the following day from a foreign number and later a voice message demanding the money on behalf of the singer.
In the audio message, the caller identified himself as Arju Bishnoi and warned that B Praak would be “buried in the ground” if the demand was not met within a week. The caller also threatened harm to anyone associated with the singer if they were found nearby.
Disturbed by the message, Dilnoor submitted a written complaint to the Senior Superintendent of Police in Mohali. The voice message and call details were shared with the police as part of the complaint for further action.
Police officials said they have taken cognisance of the matter and launched an investigation to trace the source of the foreign number and verify the caller’s identity. The case is being treated seriously as authorities examine call records and audio evidence, reports said.
