“TMC will lose all 3 seats,” says outgoing Jalangi MLA Abdul Razzak after quitting party days before polls

In a significant political development ahead of the West Bengal Assembly elections, former Jalangi MLA Abdul Razzak Mondal resigned from the Trinamool Congress just days before polling. The outgoing leader announced his decision at a press conference, marking a fresh instance of internal dissent within the party at a crucial electoral juncture.

Razzak Mondal, while addressing the media, launched a sharp attack on the party leadership and claimed that the Trinamool Congress would face defeat in Jalangi, Domkal, and Raninagar. He alleged that internal conflicts and candidate selection decisions had weakened the party’s position in the region, and directly blamed leadership choices for the growing discontent among local workers.

He also expressed strong displeasure over remarks made by senior leader Abhishek Banerjee, claiming that allegations of financial irregularities had damaged his long-standing political career. Razzak said he was denied a ticket based on these allegations and insisted that his 43-year political journey had been unfairly tarnished without proper verification or discussion.

Further escalating his criticism, Razzak alleged interference by political consultants and internal power struggles within the party. He also objected to the selection of candidates he termed “outsiders,” arguing that local leadership was being sidelined, which, according to him, would negatively impact the party’s electoral prospects in the region.

Despite quitting the party, Razzak clarified that he is not retiring from politics and may consider joining another political platform in the future. He stated that he would not align with any party before the election but would exercise his vote as an independent citizen, while continuing to make strong claims about the Trinamool Congress’s prospects in the ongoing electoral battle.
