Two arrested in New Town firing case, main accused still at large

Two persons — Sajid Khan alias Chhotu and Mohammad Taj — have been arrested in connection with the firing on Sabyasachi follower Azad Baba in Narayanpur South, New Town. They were nabbed from the Madhyamgram border based on surveillance inputs. Police confirmed both are being interrogated for more details related to the attack.

The main accused, Sheikh Azad, is still absconding. A search operation is underway. Tension prevailed in the area on Saturday morning as locals demanded his arrest. Police presence has been increased to maintain law and order.
