Bollywood actress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut expressed her approval of the 2024-2025 Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday. This budget, Sitharaman's seventh, breaks the record held by former Prime Minister Morarji Desai for the most budgets presented.
Speaking outside Parliament, Ranaut highlighted the inclusion of a relief fund for Himachal Pradesh, stating, "Relief fund has been promised for Himachal Pradesh. We are very happy with the budget." This is the first budget of the BJP-led NDA government since their re-election in June.
The 2024-2025 budget emphasizes nine priorities, including agriculture productivity and resilience, employment and skills development, inclusive human resource development and social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, research and development, and next-generation reforms.
A month prior, Ranaut made headlines after an incident with a CISF constable at Chandigarh airport while en route to Parliament. On the film front, she is set to release her directorial venture "Emergency," where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, on September 6, 2024.
