Woman found murdered in Thakurpukur’s Diamond park, throat slit just 1 day after moving in

A woman was found murdered in the Diamond Park area of Thakurpukur, Kolkata, with her throat slit just one day after moving into a rental house. The discovery was made on Thursday, prompting police to immediately cordon off the area and launch a detailed investigation. The shocking crime has left local residents alarmed, as the area is typically known for its calm atmosphere.

The woman, believed to be between 34 and 35 years old, had moved into the house in Diamond Park on Wednesday. She was reportedly living alone in the rental property, but her identity has not yet been fully confirmed. The police are working to verify her details. Local authorities have questioned the house owner, who is believed to have been the first to find the body. According to sources, the house owner had informed the police after discovering the gruesome scene, but the exact timeline of when the body was found remains unclear.

Initial reports from the police confirm that the woman had suffered multiple sharp weapon injuries, with her throat being slit. Her body was found in a pool of blood. The police have not disclosed the number or nature of the other injuries at this stage, but they have indicated that sharp weapons were used. The body was discovered around noon, though it is still uncertain who made the first report or saw the woman in a bloodied state. Some local residents reported hearing screams, but they were unsure of the specific time.

The woman had reportedly come to the area with her husband on January 17 to look for a rental property. A local laundry worker, who assisted the couple in finding the rental house, mentioned, “I actually work in laundry here. I brought her on the 17th. They came and asked me if there was a vacant house near my shop.” The laundry worker stated that the woman had shown her Aadhar card, and both she and her husband had visited to inquire about available accommodations. However, the husband was reportedly absent at the time of the body’s discovery, and police have been unable to locate him for questioning.

The police are continuing to investigate the motive behind the crime. They are also looking into the woman’s background, particularly her claim of working as a nurse at an ESI hospital. Investigators are exploring whether there were any personal or professional issues that could have contributed to the crime. Authorities are focusing on gathering more details about the victim’s life and interactions leading up to the murder in order to identify potential suspects or leads. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
