Massive fire engulfs chemical factory in Howrah, 15 tenders rushed to spot
Rajya Sabha MP and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha on Wednesday hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, calling him the "creator of the universe" and "Brahma," after Kumar claimed credit for Lalu Prasad Yadav’s political rise.
Jha’s remarks came after a heated debate in the Bihar Assembly, where Kumar told Tejashwi Yadav, “I made your father,” while discussing Bihar’s past political landscape. During the Assembly session on Tuesday, Nitish Kumar asserted that Lalu Prasad Yadav's entry into politics was facilitated by him. “What was in Bihar before? I made your father. When he entered politics, there was nothing in Bihar at the time,” Kumar said.
He further claimed that even members of Lalu’s own caste had questioned his support for him. “Even people from your caste were asking me why I was doing this, but I still supported him,” he added. Reacting to these comments, Jha criticized Kumar’s tone and language. “I am worried about Nitish Kumar now. It is so unfortunate that he is using such language. You (Nitish Kumar) were in Lalu ji’s team, you were called Lalu ji’s man,” Jha said.
He accused Kumar of avoiding key issues raised by Tejashwi Yadav in the Assembly. “Tejashwi Yadav, without any bitterness, gave a historical analysis, contemporary challenges, and an outline of the future. You did not answer it... You are the creator of the universe, you are Brahma,” Jha remarked. The exchange between Kumar and Jha comes amid heightened political tensions in Bihar following Kumar’s return to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Tejashwi Yadav, who served as Kumar’s deputy in the previous government, had criticized the state budget and compared it with the policies of the RJD-led government. He accused the current administration of failing to address Bihar’s developmental challenges. The remarks by both leaders have sparked strong reactions within Bihar’s political circles. The RJD and JD(U), former allies, have been engaged in a war of words since their alliance collapsed.
