The hunger strike by yoga teachers demanding clarity on their appointments and job status entered its fourth day on Sunday outside Vikas Bhawan. Tensions escalated after the health of one protesting teacher deteriorated in the morning, prompting concerns among fellow agitators and medical staff.
According to reports, health check-ups were conducted on all fasting teachers late Saturday night. Doctors advised them to end the fast immediately due to signs of fatigue and weakness. However, the teachers remained firm on their demands and refused to back down.
The protestors are seeking clear government intervention and a resolution regarding their employment under the SSC (Staff Selection Commission). Despite repeated pleas by health workers and administrative officials, they have declared that their fast will continue until a formal assurance is given.
With temperatures rising and health risks increasing, officials are on high alert, even as the teachers show no signs of ending the demonstration.
