A herd of around 10-12 elephants entered the city of Kharagpur, sparking concern and causing temporary closures in the South Side area. The elephants were first sighted near the forest area in front of System Technical School in the Kharagpur railway zone.
In response, local police mobilized a "hula party," a team using traditional methods to drive the animals safely out of populated zones. The unusual presence of elephants has caused a stir among residents, and the Kharagpur South Side area saw temporary road closures.
The police are urging residents to exercise caution and avoid the affected areas. Authorities, in collaboration with forest officials, aim to safely direct the elephants back into forested land.
