Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay inaugurated the Taj Mahotsav in Agra on Monday and said the event is a fusion of art, culture and cuisine. He said the ten-day event has become an attraction not only for local residents but also for tourists from other countries.
About 300 artisans from various states and UTs like Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal, Bihar and Himachal Pradesh are participating in the event, the theme of which this year is 'Vishwa Bandhutva'.
“It (Mahotsav) is a fusion of art, culture and cuisine and has become an attraction not only for the residents of Agra but also for foreign tourists. "We wish the Agra administration, UP Tourism and other resorts good luck for organizing such an event," the minister said.
District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal said that various cultural programs would be organized in Shilpgram premises and other parts of Agra in the next 10 days.
Visitor Sumit Mudgal said, "It is the only place where visitors can buy products, enjoy cultural programs and taste local cuisine. It also provides opportunities for local artists and artisans."
