Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A massive fire broke out in a railway colony adjacent to Hasnabad railway station, reducing ten houses to ashes and leaving multiple families homeless. The blaze destroyed everything inside the houses. The fire first erupted at around 12:15 pm yesterday in one house within the colony. Residents rushed out screaming for help, but within moments the flames spread rapidly to neighbouring houses. Despite desperate attempts by locals to pour water and rescue those trapped inside, the fire continued to rage uncontrollably.
As the fire spread, ten houses were completely engulfed. Inside, books belonging to students, important papers, cooking utensils, household furniture and cash were all burnt to ashes. Ten families were rendered homeless, with nothing salvageable left behind after the blaze was brought under control.
Police from Hasnabad police station, the Railway Police and personnel from the Fire Department rushed to the spot and are currently present at the site. The councillor of Ward No. 14 of Taki Municipality arrived immediately, along with other public representatives and local club members. The municipality has begun arranging relief materials and temporary shelter for the affected families and has assured them of compensation.
