Court sends Councilor Mahesh Sharma to 6-day police custody in extortion case
A tragic incident was reported from Canning in South 24 Parganas where a 12-year-old boy lost his life after an incomplete wall collapsed on him. The victim, identified as Rabiul Laskar, had gone to pluck guava near his house in Angadbedia village when the mishap occurred.
According to locals, a house was under construction nearby under a housing scheme. Rabiul is said to have inadvertently touched the unfinished brick wall while picking guavas. The weak structure collapsed instantly, burying him under the debris.
Family members and villagers rushed to the spot and rescued Rabiul, taking him to Canning Government Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The incident has spread shock and grief in the entire village.
