Flames rip through illegal warehouse in Burrabazar | Watch Taaza TV's report
A 12-year-old boy died on the spot after being hit by an LPG vehicle loaded with construction materials in the Shikarpur area under Rajarhat police station on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. and triggered grief and anger among residents in the locality.
The deceased has been identified as Rohit Biswas, a resident of the Baro Bagu area. According to eyewitnesses, the boy was walking along the side of the road when the LPG vehicle approached from behind at high speed and hit him with great force.
The impact of the collision was severe and Rohit came under the wheels of the vehicle, leading to his death on the spot. Immediately after the accident, the driver fled from the scene along with the vehicle.
As news of the incident spread, a large number of local residents gathered and staged protests in the area. The agitated crowd stopped another LPG vehicle belonging to the same company in Shikarpur to express their anger. Residents alleged that frequent accidents occur in the locality due to speeding heavy vehicles and negligent driving.
