A new revelation has emerged in the chargesheet filed by the CBI regarding the recruitment scam. The chargesheet mentions an audio clip related to Sujay Krishna Bhadra, popularly known as 'Kalighat ke Kaku,' in which the names of Partha Chatterjee, Abhishek, and Manik Bhattacharya have surfaced. The CBI had filed a 28-page chargesheet on February 21 in the primary recruitment scam.
According to the chargesheet, this audio clip contains discussions about systematically making illegal appointments. The investigative agency claims that one of the voices in this audio belongs to Sujay Krishna Bhadra. The CBI has alleged in the chargesheet that in 2017, ₹15 crore was demanded from Sujay Krishna for securing jobs through illegal means.
According to the CBI, this demand was made by an Abhishek Banerjee. However, the chargesheet does not provide the full identity of this Abhishek. In response, Abhishek's lawyer, Sanjay, issued a statement claiming that the CBI is conspiring to tarnish his client's image. This raises the possibility that the individual named in the chargesheet is Abhishek Banerjee, the All India General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress and a three-time Lok Sabha MP.
