At least 16 workers were injured after a major fire broke out at a chemical factory in Gujarat’s Bharuch district on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1 pm at a unit located in the Jhagadia GIDC area, prompting an immediate emergency response.
According to officials, the injured workers were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, with no fatalities reported so far. Fire brigade teams, police personnel, and ambulances reached the spot soon after the alert and initiated rescue and firefighting operations.
Efforts to douse the blaze are ongoing, with additional fire tenders deployed from nearby areas to assist in controlling the situation. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the site, indicating the scale of the fire.
