In Jharkhand's Khunti district, a 16-year-old tribal girl was allegedly dragged by around ten men when returning home from school, and five of them gang-raped her. The girl fainted and later found herself naked and immediately reported the incident to the police.
A senior officer said that the incident occurred in the Murhu Police Station area near National Highway 75, connecting Ranchi with Chaibasa. The traumatized girl reported the crime to the police, leading to the registration of an FIR. She underwent a medical examination, which confirmed the rape.
"An FIR has been lodged on Thursday and persons involved in the crime are being identified. They will soon be arrested. She had undergone a medical test," Khunti Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Varun Rajak.
The police have launched an extensive investigation into the case and are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the perpetrators, and search operations were being conducted to arrest the persons involved in the crime as well.
