17-year-old abducted by 6 masked men, CCTV footage released

In a shocking incident, six masked men abducted a 17-year-old girl from a shelter home in Gwalior during the early hours of Sunday. The abduction took place at the One Stop Center in Kampoo around 2 AM. The intruders, who scaled a 4-foot wall and retrieved keys from the guard room, managed to execute the abduction within 20 minutes while the female guard on duty was asleep. Despite the presence of three security guards and a police officer at the main gate, the abductors successfully woke the girl and took her away. CCTV footage shows the girl holding hands with one of the masked men as they left.

Police officials, ASP Akhilesh Renwal and CSP Ashok Jadon, suspect the involvement of the girl's boyfriend, citing her previous attempts to run away. The police believe the incident was meticulously planned, as the abductors appeared to have detailed knowledge of the shelter home’s layout. The girl, previously missing from the Thatipur area, had a case of abduction filed against her boyfriend. She was found by the police and presented in court on June 7, after which she refused to go with her parents and was placed in the shelter home. The police are currently investigating possible involvement of anyone from the shelter home in the abduction.
