17-year old girl shot dead by jilted lover in Masaurhi; Patna

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through Bihar's Patna, a 17-year-old girl, identified as Anamika, was shot dead in broad daylight near Manichak Mod in Masaurhi village. The incident, caught on CCTV, has sparked concerns over rising crime rates in the state.

Reports suggest that the victim, a dedicated student travelling daily to her coaching class, was attacked by a jilted lover as she made her way to the institute. The intermediate student was taken to the sub-divisional hospital after the incident where the doctors declared her dead.

 The chilling video footage reveals a youth closely following the girl in a narrow lane before launching a fatal attack. Despite the victim attempting to flee, the assailant shot her point-blank in the head, causing her to collapse.

The Police said, "On the morning of 11.12.23, near Manichak Mod in the jurisdiction of Masaurhi Police Station, a girl was shot in the head and killed. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further forensic procedures are being carried out. Regarding the incident, a statement was given by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Masaurhi."

The accused, reportedly a fellow student from the same coaching class, had allegedly been pursuing a relationship with the victim, which she vehemently rejected. The police, informed of the incident, promptly reached the spot and transported the deceased to the sub-divisional hospital, where she was declared dead.
