India beats Afghanistan by record margin of innings & 300 runs
The West Bengal government has executed a massive administrative shake-up in the state's police department, issuing transfer notifications for 179 IPS officers at once. This major reshuffle comes as an effort to streamline law and order administration across various districts and commissionerates. As part of this sweeping directive, 12 Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been replaced, including the top cop of the highly sensitive Diamond Harbour police district.
Among the high-profile appointments, senior IPS officer Murlidhar Sharma has been named the new Inspector General of the Intelligence Bureau (IG IB). Significant changes have also been made to the Kolkata Police and Howrah Police hierarchies. Kunal Aggarwal has been appointed as the new Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) for Kolkata, while Surya Pratap Yadav will take charge as the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
The restructuring expands deep into key operational and departmental divisions. Pradeep Kumar Yadav has been designated as the Deputy Commissioner of the Special Task Force (DC STF). The traffic and zonal wings also saw vital postings, with Manish Joshi taking over as DC Traffic and Sambhav Jain assigned as DC Central Howrah. Meanwhile, Sayak Das and Rahul De have both been appointed to key Deputy Commissioner posts in the North division.
