The BSF is maintaining strict vigilance to prevent the unrest in Bangladesh from impacting West Bengal. The state police are also active. The central government has sealed the Changrabandha border in Cooch Behar.
On Monday evening, 190 truck drivers who had gone to Bangladesh were brought back to India through the Changrabandha border. Import-export with Bangladesh was halted since Monday morning, leaving some truck drivers stranded. Additional Superintendent of Police of Cooch Behar, Sanatan Garai, confirmed the return of the drivers.
Security is heightened from Changrabandha in the north to Hili in the south and Sandeshkhali. The Indian Army is active on the Petrapole border, and tight security is in place at the Chapra border in Nadia.
