Covid-19 is a highly contagious disease that has affected millions of people worldwide. Despite the availability of vaccines and various measures to control the spread of the virus, it continues to pose a threat to public health. At present, the situation of Covid-19 is said to be under control in West Bengal and other states of the country. However, after two recent deaths due to Covid, the panic about the virus has started to increase again in the state.
The two individuals who died were a 5-year-old boy and an 81-year-old woman. The child died at BC Roy Hospital on Thursday, and the woman, who is originally from Bihar, passed away at Beleghata ID Hospital on Saturday.
Despite the vigilance issued by the state government, the fear of Covid is rising again due to the recent deaths. A few months ago, the new strain of the virus called Omicron created panic in various countries, but it did not have much of an impact on the state. This could be due to the fact that most people in the state have received double and booster doses of the Covid vaccine.
However, with the change in weather, many people are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cold, cough, and headache, which has caused health experts to express concern about the possible effect of a new strain of the virus. The recent Covid deaths in the state indicate that their fears may be justified.
