In a tragic incident, two cousins of the groom were killed while 12 others were injured after an express car plowed into a wedding party in Uttar Pradesh's Bafar village on Wednesday evening, police said.
The groom's cousins died on the spot and police have sent the bodies for postmortem, while the injured persons are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Family members beat up the deceased driver and tried to set the car on fire, but were prevented from doing so by the police.
The wedding was arranged at the village feast hall on the Meerut-Bagpat road. During the procession, the groom's family was dancing in front of the hall when a speeding car drove into it.
