Full state honors for Ratan Tata, one day mourning announced in Maharashtra
Two Special Task Force (STF) constables, Bharat Sahu from Raipur and Satyer Singh Kange from Narayanpur district, were killed, and four others were injured after Naxalites detonated an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district. The incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Tarrem area when a joint team of security personnel was returning from an anti-Naxalite operation in the forests at the tri-junction of Bijapur, Sukma, and Dantewada districts. The operation involved STF, District Reserve Guard, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and its elite unit CoBRA.
The joint team had launched the operation on Tuesday based on intelligence about the presence of Naxalites from the Darbha and west Bastar divisions and military company no. 2. Following the blast, reinforcement was rushed to the area, and the injured personnel were evacuated for treatment.
