Candidates from the 2019 batch of Anganwadi Worker Promotional Supervisors staged a protest outside Bikash Bhavan in Salt Lake, alleging that they have not been appointed despite a High Court order. The demonstrators demanded immediate implementation of the court’s directive reserving 50 per cent of vacancies for promotional supervisor candidates.
According to the protesters, the High Court in its January 24, 2025 judgment fixed 1,713 vacancies for the post of Promotional Supervisor. Of these, 1,152 candidates who cleared the written examination are yet to receive appointments.
They claimed that although the order has been in effect since December 2025, no proper steps have been taken to fill the posts in line with the ruling. The agitation was held in front of Bikash Bhavan and Shishu Shiksha Bhavan, with candidates pressing for immediate recruitment.
