Tension gripped the Girish Park area after the hanging body of 21-year-old pilot trainee Soumyaditya Kundu was recovered from a flat late Wednesday night. A resident of Madhu Rai Lane, Soumyaditya had been undergoing pilot training in South Africa for the past year and had returned to Kolkata only a few days earlier.
According to his family, he left home on Wednesday evening but did not return, prompting concern. After tracking his mobile location, relatives discovered he had gone to his uncle’s flat on Central Avenue. When the door remained unanswered late at night, the family entered the premises and found him hanging inside.
Police have recovered the body and begun an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The unexpected death has left the family and neighbourhood in shock.
