A horrifying incident of assault and gangrape came to light in Ghaziabad as a 23-year-old woman was attacked by a group of five men in the Tronica City police station area. The three identified accused - Junaid, Imran, and Chand - have been apprehended by the police, with an ongoing interrogation to gather further information. The victim, who was learning to ride a bike with friends, was forcibly dragged into bushes, where she was assaulted.
During the manhunt, Junaid attempted to escape and was injured in a police encounter, subsequently revealing the names of his associates. Imran and three others were later caught after resisting surrender, with Imran being shot in the leg during an attempt to flee. The victim's male colleague and a female friend were present at the scene, and the latter managed to escape when the attackers attempted to assault her as well. Reportedly, the victim was waiting for the duo to return when she was attacked. Reports said that the accused took turns to rape the victim.
A formal complaint has been lodged at Tronica City police station, and the victim has undergone a medical examination, though no physical or internal injuries have been reported.
