Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
The body of a 26-year-old married woman was found hanging from a tree near a canal in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district on Sunday, police said. The incident occurred near Munjesh Nagar crossing, where locals noticed the body and alerted authorities. Police officials said a team from the Kurebhar police station rushed to the spot after receiving information about a suspected hanging.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman hanging from a tree with a noose made from her saree. According to police, part of the woman’s body was submerged in the canal water. Preliminary examination at the scene did not reveal any visible injury marks on the body.
Initial inquiries revealed that the woman was a resident of the Bikapur area in Ayodhya district and had been married for about seven years. Police said she had reportedly left her in-laws’ house a day earlier following an argument with family members.
The body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
