In Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, three members of a family were tragically killed and two others injured when their house collapsed due to heavy rain on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Kotgarh village during the morning hours. Rescuers managed to extract the victims from the debris, but they were declared dead upon reaching a nearby hospital.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Anil, Kiran, and Swapnil, and their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Authorities, including Shimla's Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, are investigating the incident.
Earlier in the day, a flash flood and landslide were reported in Gramphu village and Chota Dharra, resulting in road blockages. However, there were no casualties reported in that particular incident. Thirty college students who were stranded due to the landslide were safely rescued.
Efforts to clear debris and restore normalcy will be undertaken once the weather conditions improve, according to officials.

Flash floods and landslides are also anticipated in the state. The IMD has shared forecast updates with the government, highlighting the areas at risk and urging precautionary measures.
