Bengal Police busts Jamtara cyber scam, 46 arrested in statewide crackdown
On the night of January 11, a Bullet motorcycle was stolen from the C.I. Block area of Salt Lake. The bike had been parked on the street, and its handle lock was found open. Following the incident, a complaint was filed with the Bidhannagar North Police Station, prompting an immediate investigation.
The police examined CCTV footage from the area, which revealed three young men arriving on a motorcycle. They were seen stopping near the parked Bullet bike, checking the handle lock, and taking the bike after confirming the lock was open. Based on the footage, the police identified the suspects and traced them to the Kankurgachi area, where they were arrested.
The arrested individuals will be presented before the Bidhannagar Magistrate Court today. The police are requesting custody to conduct further interrogation. Authorities are now investigating whether the suspects have been involved in other vehicle thefts across the Salt Lake region. The police are also looking into the suspects' methods of selling stolen vehicles and attempting to determine if the group is part of a larger network involved in vehicle theft.
